Who we are

Taglantern is an independent service, not affiliated with Shopify. Contact: hello@taglantern.com.

Store scans

When you request a scan, we only read the public HTML of the store's homepage and one product page — the same content any visitor sees. We keep that HTML and the result to generate the shareable report and improve detection. We don't store personal data about the store's customers.

To prevent abuse, the IP address of whoever requests a scan is used temporarily (up to 2 hours) and is not stored.

Email alerts

• We store your email, the store it refers to, your chosen language, the date of consent and the date of confirmation.
• Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box and confirmed through the link we email you (double opt-in).
• We only use your email for alerts about that store and about the service. We don't sell or share it with third parties, except our email delivery provider (processor).
• Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link; on the same page you can delete all your data.
• You can also request access, correction or deletion by email, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
• Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 30 days.
